Afsana-i Yaghma’i

Yaghma’i, Afsana (b. 1937), daughter of Habib. A poet, writer, and publisher who having completed his studies in archaeology at the Faculty of Letters, University of Tehran, taught Persian literature in Shiraz and Tehran. She married one of her relatives in her early youth and has three children. Following her retirement, she has been running the Sarwa Publications and is ever interested in cultural achievements. Similar to her father, sisters, and some of his relatives, she was born a poet and regards poetry as her true achievement in life. Besides the poems she contributed to different periodicals, she published two collections of poetry, Surud-i Budan and Sabzam wa Pur az Jawana’am. Another collection, comprising of parents compositions about their children is published under the title of Shi’rtarin Shi’r. Her last work, a novel entitled Safar dar Saya (2000), reflects her talents in fiction.
