Tawhidi Shirazi

Tawhid Shirazi, Mirza Muhammad Isma’il (1823-1869), the fifth son of Wisal Shirazi who chose the nom de plume Tawhid. He was born in 1823 and died of cholera in 1869 survived by no offspring. His brother, ‘Abd al-Wahhab Shirazi, with the nom de plume Yazdani, took many a trouble to collect his poetry, exceeding 2,500 couplets. Besides his father, his five brothers were calligraphers and poets of renown, flourishing in the 19th century. Mirza Isma’il Tawhid was well-known for writing in the Naskhi script.
