Qazi Yahya Lahijani

Qazi Lahiji Gilani, Yahya (d. 1545/1546), a mystic and poet and a nephew of Qazi ‘Abd Allah Yaqini, a scholar, and a Shaykh of the Nurbakhshiyya Sufi Order in Lahijan. Having departed for India, he attached himself to the court of the Babarid Humayun Muhammad Shah and was appointed the librarian of Shah Jahan, the emperor of India. He later returned to Persia and died in Kashan. He composed exquisitely elegant ghazals.
