Lughatnama-yi Dihkhuda (15/ 23093).

Vaqif Khalkhali, Mulla ‘Aliquli (fl. sixteenth century), nephew of Mulla Nasr Allah Khalkhali. A talented poet who composed perfectly vigorous poetry and taught in Isfahan. His divan of poetry is extant. The following lines are by him:

Peace of mind defies me even in the garb of poverty,

The stiches on my Sufi garb resembles fearsome roads.

The expanse of the plain falls short of my flight,

Remembering the hunter and the hardships of the corner of the cage.

It reminds me that the world is very transient,

The whirlwind arising from the skirt of the desert.

The pure hearted are not grieved by the vicissitudes of the time,

The waves all unravel at the heart of the sea.
