Hasan Manuchihri

Manuchihri, Hasan (b. 1939), ‘ud instrumentalist. He studied the tar at the National Music School which was directed by Ruh Allah Khaliqi (1949-1959). His main instrument was tar, but having studied the ‘ud under Akbar Muhsini, he changed his main instrument to the latter. Together with his wife, Simin Aqa Razi, the qanun instrumentalist, he played the ‘ud (1959-1979) at the orchestras of the Ministry of Culture and Art, the Rudaki Hall, the Television, and the Gulha-yi Taza programs (under Hushang Ibtihaj) accompanying vocalists like Pariwash Sutuda, Khatira Parwana, ‘Abd al-Wahhab Shahidi, and Nadir Gulchin. No independent album has been released by him.
