Gulshan Kurdistani

Gulshan Kurdistani, Sayyid Mahmud (1930-1992), born in Sanandaj, he completed his primary and high school education in his hometown and Tehran respectively. He found a teaching position in Shiraz and while teaching at schools, he studied at the Faculty of Letters and obtained his BA. Then, he taught for 30 years at high schools in Shiraz, Hamadan, Tehran, and at institutes of higher education. He was on the poetry council of the Ministry of Guidance until his retirement. In his last year of service, he was a supervisor at the Organization for the Studies and Programming of the Ministry of Education. He composed poetry from 1951 and had mastery of composing poetry in different genres, qasida, ghazal, and mathnawi, though he was more interested in ghazal and in his ghazals he skillfully and vigorously presented depictions of his thoughts and ideas. He contributed poetry to Anjuman, a periodical published by the Sa’ib Literary Association. His works include two collections of poetry, Gulbang and Tundar.
